Lorde has finally launched her debut album. The Kiwi teen songstress gave more than a hundred audience members the privilege to listen to her new tracks from her “Pure Heroine” at a private gig in Auckland on Wednesday.
Kiwi pop sensation Lorde
The 16-year-old chart-topping singer, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor, performed several tracks from her album, including her hit song “Royals.”
An audience member told ONE News that Lorde has enchanted the whole venue, which has gone mostly quiet while she was singing, but gave her a resounding round of applause when she finished.
Even after she left the stage, the crowd was asking for an “encore.”
“Pure Heroine” will hit stores in New Zealand and Australia on September 27.
She will also perform her first shows in the U.S. on September 24.
But first, she will be performing on a free concert at the Vector Arena on September 7. Digital radio iHeartRadio has organised a free show in Auckland, and anyone who wants to see her sing can win two tickets each by signing up for an account at iHeart before September 1.
Lorde has made history as the first solo female act to top the U.S. Billboard Alternative Songs chart in 17 years with her track “Royals.” Tracy Bonham was the last one to dominate the chart with “Mother Mother” back in 1996, Lorde’s birth year.
