Chelsea confirmed that they were able to obtain the signature of Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala.
Various sources said that a 5-year deal in the region of £30 million was agreed upon by the parties.
"I'm very happy to be here, it's been a dream of mine to come and play here," --- Willian
Willian was on the verge of going to Tottenham, until a surprise bid by the Blues complicated things.
He will join the likes of Andre Schurrle, Oscar, Kevin de Bruyne and Juan Mata in a jam-packed attacking midfield section.
"Chelsea are one of the world's best clubs and now I'm going to play for one of the world's best managers," Willian told BBC Sport.
Willian felt ecstatic and was optimistic in surpassing challenges in his tenure at Stamford Bridge. "I'm very happy to be here, it's been a dream of mine to come and play here," he stated.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made public his admiration for the Spaniard on Tuesday, after their win against Fenerbahce.
Mata has been the club's Player of the Year for that past two successive years and is not wanting in suitors around Europe.
However, a manager in a big club like Chelsea has the luxury of selecting players not only based on their quality but also on how they may fit in the system that the boss wants to employ.
