Labor Day weekend is one of the most popular and all-time favourite holidays of Americans. Every U.S. family will soon be ready and all packed up to head to their next out-of-town trip that is also the end of what has been a long summer season.
According to many sites that recommend top destinations to head to for the long weekend of Labor Day 2013, it is the major cities which will be filled up with vacationers. Reports from Trivago say that it is San Francisco which is the most searched place by U.S. netizens who are to spend the Labor Day weekend. Others are set to travel to the cities in the West Coast like Vegas and LA.
They also featured Canadian cities on their list when it comes to the international destinations that Labor Day travellers want to spend time in. The Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada, is the number one preferred international travel destination of American families, followed by other global cities like Paris in France and Rome in Italy.
On the other hand, for Priceline.com, their studies have let them conclude that the Labor Day weekend travellers for 2013 have been burnt out with the sun in beaches that they tend to hit the big cities too. For their Top 50 Labor Day list, it is the MidTown West neighbourhood of NYC that is ranked on top, followed by the North Michigan Avenue of Chicago and the North Strip of Vegas on third place.
According to their travel expert, Brian Ek, the incoming season of fall storm is one of the biggest reasons why the travellers are avoiding the beach. Besides, the major cities can also offer both outdoor and indoor activities that can deliver as much sense of fun as hitting the shores. Others cities also make it in their list of top Labor Day weekend destinations since this is the time of the year when students get to check in their dorms and does advance football matchups.
The Labor Day list of destinations by Priceline is made with reference to the booking requests their site receives through credit card payment. Theirs is one of the most reliable predictors of destinations for such seasons of the year, especially when it comes to the travel trends of Labor Day.
