A whopping 14.8 pound (6.6 kg) baby born has been born in Mexico in August 14 who wears clothes meant for a 6 month old.
Dilan Aram was born 62 centimeters (24.4 inches) long at the IMSS Hospital 66 in Juarez. He is the fifth child of the Hernandez-Flores family.
While amazed and proud of his heavyweight son, father Cesar Hernandez admitted he is worried about how to sustain his newborn's needs, specially since he has been unemployed for some time now.
"We are very happy yet very concerned," he earlier told the Norte de Juarez newspaper. "How are we going to provide to all our children? We have no jobs and are at the mercy of the public good and their support. We certainly would appreciate that."
Local authorities responded by sending the parents with powdered milk, diapers, clothing and baby bottles. They likewise offered the infant's father a job.
"We liked the help a lot. We are very thankful for it because, yes, we're a little in need," Mr Hernandez told Efe.
"The doctors told us that we'd have to be careful because (the baby) has to be fed every two hours so that his (blood) sugar doesn't go down," he added.
Dilan is just one of the many reported heavyweight births since man began keeping databases of such.
The heaviest baby born on record was the baby boy that Canadian Anna Bates (née Swan) gave birth on January 19, 1879, who weighed 10.8 kg (23 lb 12 oz) and measured 76 cm in length (30 in). Unfortunately, the baby died 11 hours later.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the heaviest baby born to a healthy mother was a boy weighing 10.2 kg (22 lb 8 oz) born at Aversa, Italy in September 1955.
