"The Calling's" vocalist Alex Band, who was reportedly abducted, beaten and robbed last August 18, says that the attack and kidnapping was not a hoax.
"This just happened to me. I didn't kidnap myself, or beat the crap out of myself. So the whole hoax thing is honestly kind of disgusting to even think about, or hear," the 32-year-old frontman said.

Band and members of "The Calling" performed at a music festival in Lapeer, Michigan as part of their comeback effort. After their performance, the lead singer left his hotel romm to go to a local convenience store when a blue mini-van pulled up alongside him and grabbed him.
Brad Taylor, his publicist, said that "He was beaten with a police baton with a gun pointed to his face demanding Band's 'Hollywood money.' After Band fought back, he was cornered in the van with gun to his face."
Band admitted that he was scared and pleaded for his life. He told his abductor, "You know, I just found like a couple of weeks ago that I'm going to be a dad," to which the assailant responded, "It's your lucky day."
He was kicked out of the car and left him unconscious by the train tracks. His bandmates found him some time later in bad condition. He was brought by a band member to the emergency room at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital.
His publicist reported on Monday that Band has "a fractured lower spine, 15 stitches to lower chin, three broken teeth and is bruised on his side stomach from the baton beating."
It was TMZ that first reported about the incident and said that the Lapeer City Police Department disclosed to them that Band was also robbed during the alleged attack.
Band issued a statement about his unfortunate event earlier to CNN believing that his saviour was his unborn child. "I am grateful to be alive and I know that I am destined for bringing my music back to my fans," he added.
Five days before the kidnapping happened, Band announced on August 15 that "The Calling"will reunite after an eight-year hiatus. Best known for their hit songs "Wherever You Will Go", "The Calling" will have its new line-up.
