Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan is on the verge of completing a move to the Premier League amid reported interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, the winger's agent claims.
The Turkey international has been one of Atletico's stand out performers over the course of the last two seasons but his agent has previously suggested The 26-year-old will seek a new challenge this summer with the Premier League his preferred destination.
Atletico would be appear determined to ensure the winger's €24m release clause is fully met, but his agent Ahmet Bulut has indicated an English club may now be prepared to activate such a clause, suggesting discussions over a move are already underway.
Speaking to Turkish television channel NTV Spor, Bulut said: "The transfer of Arda to the Premier League this summer is likely," the Express report.
"England is where most of the interest in him lies and they are well informed about Atletico's stance. They know that the Madrid club are rejecting all offers for him but that if they pay his release clause there is nothing the club can do.
"There have been discussions."
Atletico were forced to come out and repeatedly deny suggestions that Turan would leave the club during the January transfer window as both Liverpool and Arsenal tentatively sounded out the possibility of signing the wide man.
Speaking in January, Bulut said: "There are a few clubs interested. Liverpool is one and Arsenal another. There have been no concrete offers but two clubs have spoken about wages."
Arsenal's need to strengthen their squad become more evident over the weekend as they lost 3-1 at home to Aston Villa, a situation that has resulted in the Arsenal Supporters' Trust urging the club to stall contract talks with Arsene Wenger until their failings in the transfer market have been addressed.
Brendan Rodgers has added four players to his squad this summer and are expected to confirm a fifth in the form of Valencia full back Aly Cissokho, but remains in the market for another attacking option.
