Two disturbing videos surfaced over the weekend, showing attacks on elderly men. The first victim was an 80-year-old Sikh who was beaten by a drunk teenage girl in Britain.
The 46-second video above captured how she kicked and hit the old man in front of passers-by. He initially tried to protect himself but she was too strong and managed to shove him on the street and even knock off his turban.
The Sikh suffered a cut nose and swollen eye socket and was brought to a hospital for treatment.
The incident actually happened on Aug 10 at around 8:30 p.m. on Trinity Street in Coventry city centre. The video was posted on YouTube to help identify the female attacker and had almost 30,000 views.
As a result of the YouTube posting, the girl was arrested on Saturday and the police said she would be questioned about the attack, which they are treating as serious malicious wounding and could send the teenage attacker up to five years in jail.
In Auckland, New Zealand, the Counties-Manukau Police have released a CCTV image of an attack on a 58-year-old Buddhist month on Friday night. The incident happened at Buddhist monastery in Auckland.
The CCTV showed three men hit the old monk with a baseball bat and then handcuffed the old man and stomped on him. The monk was left unconscious with head injuries, while the three men stole the money from donation boxes.
"This elderly man wouldn't harm a fly, so it's just disgusting what these people have done," 3News.co.nz quoted Detective Sergeant Tom Goilan of the Counties-Manukau Police.
The victim heads a local Buddhist community in Auckland.
"Even the criminal fraternity would frown upon this sort of event. Someone out there knows what is going on and they just need to have a good hard think about coming forward to the police," Mr Gollan said.
The three even attempted to steal the monk's vehicle buy could not leave the premises, so they left it and fled by other methods. Like the Sikh, the Buddhist monk had some fractures and a major head wound and is in the hospital for treatment.
