Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has opened up about a different aspect in his life beyond the usual world of racing: Fatherhood.
Mercedes Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain holds his trophy on the podium after winning the Hungarian F1 Grand Prix at the Hungaroring circuit in Mogyorod, near Budapest July 28, 2013.
In an interview with Sir David Frost from Al Jazeera, Hamilton candidly talked about his childhood, a special lady in his life, and his dreams of becoming a father one day.
"When I got growing up it was not that easy to, and still today, actually split yourself between two families, it's never been that easy," the British racer told Sir David, referring to his parents' eventual separation.
But he isn't bitter - as he mentions that his stepmother Linda is special to him - but his biological mother, Carmen, is the special woman in his life.
He also mentioned that his father was the one who influenced and encouraged his to pursue his dream of racing.
"I wouldn't be here without my dad. He's been the driving force in my whole career," he says. When asked by Sir Frost if he'd like kids one day, he shares that he "definitely love[s] kids."
He also mentions his aspiration for a second world championship and that he will keep training and working hard. He's also looking to improve himself in other facets in his life.
"I just think there's still plenty for me to learn. I'm glad there is still plenty for me to learn but there is still better ways that I can communicate with people. There are still better ways that I can manage relationships. There are still better ways that I can behave," the Hungarian Grand Prix winner stated.
Perhaps he's trying to send out a message to another special woman in his life? A certain X Factor judge maybe?
