No one expected the known Internet-averse 80s pop star Prince to join Twitter, but yes, he has embraced it! He has just gone social by launching his own Twitter account with the username @3rdeyegirl.
Prince has finally taken advantage of the Internet as a tool to promote and push an upcoming project. Even though the account has been around for some time, it was only just recently that he started tweeting as himself and the social media site itself verified it to be the real Prince.
Prince's very first tweets were up and posted yesterday:
His hesitance on Twitter and other social media forms online has stirred up a lot of jokes over the Net. It has even triggered the creation of various parody accounts like the Twitter account @PrinceTweets2U which has followers counting 50,000 more than the real account of the singer.
Now that Prince has surely embraced the value and helpfulness of social media for easier and faster promotion, even for a limited extent, everyone still looks forward if this will completely change his views on the power of the Internet.
But for now, for all fans of Prince, glory in the first ever #selfie the iconic artist has shared to the world that signifies the start of 1984 video, When Doves Cry. He also tweeted a preview link to a YouTube clip of his brand new song titled Groovy Potential.
By the way, Prince seems to be kind in giving lots of retweets too. At the moment, he has about 32,000 followers in his account. So what are you waiting for? Follow Prince's Twitter and share your thoughts with him for an RT!
