Prince William revealed that he is leaving duty as search and rescue pilot from the Royal Army Force (RAF) on September.
However, his announcement came with good news for all Australians, as he confirmed plan of taking Prince George in the country come 2014.
Prince William and Kate Middleton show Prince George, their son, to the world for first time last July 23. The royal couple plans to choose a family photo of the royal baby as his official portrait.
After his speech at the Anglesey county fair, Prince William joined the audience and chatted with Australian couple Max and Maxine Davies who were incidentally on a holiday.
The couple from Victor Harbor, South of Adelaide, were lucky enough to be the very first persons to receive the confirmation that Prince William will be bringing Prince George to Australia on 2014.
"George is doing really well, thank you. We are all very hopefully coming to Australia next year," said Prince William.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Mr and Mrs Davies cannot contain their excitement upon hearing the good news.
"We are on holiday here and can't believe we got to talk to him. How wonderful that the family will come to Australia to visit. He said he was very hopeful of coming next year with the family," said Mr Davies.
It was to be recalled that during Princess Diana's time, when Prince William was just 9 months old in 1983, she decided on her own to bring Prince William in the country.
Even before Prince George was born in July 22, 2013, there were already rumours about the royal baby coming to Australia.
In an interview with the U.S. Weekly last June, a spokesperson for the royal couple already hinted about Prince George's tour after being born.
"While it is a deeply personal and private event, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge realize this is a time of national celebration and that there will be vast interest in the baby. They realize many people will want to share in their happiness," the spokesperson told U.S. Weekly in the interview.
Back in the Anglesey county fair, Prince William shared with the crowd that Prince George was "loud but good looking."
"Catherine is sorry that she cannot be here today at the County Show. But she and George would have loved to have been here. He's pretty loud but of course very good looking. I have to say that I thought Search and Rescue duties over Snowdonia were physically and mentally demanding, but looking after a three-week-old baby is up there!" Prince William gushed.
As he emotionally bid Anglesey goodbye, he went down from his platform and chatted with the crowd. The crowd, in return, gave him toys and gifts for Prince George.
