She was recently sentenced to three months in jail for failing to pay more than $1m in back taxes, but according to US rapper Pras, reclusive soul superstar Lauryn Hill will not serve the sentence in federal prison.
The 40-year-old star insisted that his former Fugees bandmate, like Lindsay Lohan, will spend very little time incarcerated.
Former child star Lohan has had many run-ins with the law for crimes ranging from driving under the influence to theft. She has never completed any of her prison sentences due to 'overcrowding'.
"I doubt it she [Hill] is going to do three months," he told TMZ as he left Madeo restaurant in West Hollywood.
"If Lindsay Lohan doesn't do any time then why would she do any time.
"I did leave a call [with her]," he added. "If she gets back to be I want to just reach out to her and be like 'yo whatever you need. I've got your back'".
The Grammy-winning singer stood in federal court and compared her experience in the music business to the slavery her ancestors endured.
"I am a child of former slaves who had a system imposed on them," Hill said. "I had an economic system imposed on me."
Hill skyrocketed to fame in the mid-1990s as a member of The Fugees. The band's second album The Score sold almost 20m copies worldwide and spawned smash hit single Killing me Softly.
After the band split up, Hill released The Miseducation' which won six Grammy awards.
