Actress Jane Levy is getting a divorce, but for many, this is the first time they’re hearing the “Suburgatory” star was even married. Levy filed for divorced from her husband and fellow actor, Jamie Freitas, last month after seven months of marriage.
Levy, 23, filed for the split on April 16, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce according to court documents TMZ reported Sunday. The couple reportedly wed secretly in March 2011 before separating in Oct. Despite Levy filing the paperwork, the split was allegedly amicable.
According to the report, Levy indicated no desire to pay spousal support for Freitas, who shares one film credit with the leading lady. The couple starred in the 2010 David Lynch music video for the song “I Know" playing a couple living in a home on an abandoned island, stripping and feeding each other crab legs.
Levy jump-started her career playing the sexually flamboyant character, Mandy Milkovich, in the popular Showtime drama “Shameless.” The actress first gained public attention in 2011 after landing the lead role of Tessa Altman, a native Manhattan teenager turned suburban outcast, in the ABC comedy “Suburgatory.”
Freitas film credits includes a wide majority of foreign films and the 2013 American dramedy “Chlorine” co-starring alongside Kyra Sedgwick.
“Suburgatory” airs Wednesday’s on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET.
