The biopic jOBS, based on the life of the late Steve Jobs, the charismatic founder and chief executive of Apple, is to be delayed for marketing reasons. The film stars Two And A Half Men actor Ashton Kutcher in the lead role.

The film has been directed by Joshua Michael Stern and was written by Matt Whitely. It was initially scheduled for release on 19 April, to coincide with the 37th anniversary of the founding of Apple.

Hollywood Reporter believes the marketing team - from Open Road Films - has yet to set a new date. The film was fully financed and produced by Five Star Feature Films.

The film has already received a world premiere - it was screened in January at the Sundance Film Festival in the US. It looks at the journey of Apple's founder, from a college dropout to his position as one of the most visionary entrepreneurs of the 20th century.

Unfortunately, the film was not very well received by Apple's co-founder, Steve Wozniak. The 62-year-old drew attention to one of the scenes in the new trailer and said it was "totally wrong".

The scene shows Kutcher encouraging Josh Gad (who plays Wozniak) during the early stages of the creation of Apple's revolutionary computer operating system.

Wozniak claims the truth was he had to convince Jobs about the potentially revolutionary impact of computers. He explains:

"We never had such interaction and roles. I'm not even sure what it's getting at...Our personal ties are very wrong although mine is closer...don't forget that my purpose was inspired by the values of the Homebrew Computer Club along with ideas of the value of such machines and Steve Jobs wasn't around and didn't attend the club so he was the one learning about such social impact of the future.

"Personalities and where the ideas of computers affecting society did not come from Jobs. I'm embarrassed, but if the movie is fun and entertaining, all the better," he added.
