Superstar Shah Rukh Khan generally known to be generous to friends has gone a step further this time.

Shah Rukh Khan surprised director Rohit Shetty with an expensive 'Ed Hardy' bike on his birthday.

King Khan has been shooting with Deepika Padukone in Wai for "Chennai Express" for some time now. Rohit Shetty is the director of the film. 

On Rohit Shetty's birthday, which fell on 14 March, the generous Khan not only planned a surprised party at a Wai Hotel but also showered the ace director with the special gift.

SRK knew of Rohit's craze for bikes and cars and surprised him with the bike.

Shetty was reportedly overwhelmed with SRK's grand gesture.

"It was a classy affair. The entire cast and crew were invited and SRK's co-star Deepika Padukone was also present. SRK had made sure that none of the unit members informed Rohit about the party," a source told Mid-Day.

The tabloid also reported that Shetty has been coming to the shooting location in his brand new two-wheeler ever since.

This is the first time Shah Rukh and Rohit are working together for the masala flick "Chennai Express."

It is SRK and Deepika Padukone's second film together. They had earlier together in Farah Khan's film "Om Shanti Om".
