“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Adrienne Maloof and her boyfriend Sean Stewart have reportedly ended their relationship after only two months together.
According to E! Online, Maloof,51, was the one to pull the plug on the relationship. A source who spoke to the online gossip site said, "It's over and she broke up with him… She needs a man."
Despite their significant age difference – at 32-years-old Stewart is nearly 20 years Maloof’s junior – and the brevity of their relationship, Maloof was remarkably public about dating Stewart. After photographers glimpsed the pair grabbing dinner together, Maloof immediately came clean, telling TMZ that she and Stewart were taking things slow and that she wasn’t put off by his age.
“It’s about how good of a person you are,” she said. “[Sean] is a very funny guy. He’s very giving, he mentors at the mission, works with at-risk children and gives his time and money to get children off the streets…age is just a number.”
“He’s truly a compassionate man,” Maloof added during the relationship. “I had no idea when I met him how young he actually was … but, you know, we just have a blast together and that’s exactly what I need right now in my life.”
In an unexpected turn Maloof’s ex-husband, Paul Nassif, also came out in support of the relationship, telling TMZ, “as long as [Adrienne’s] happy, that’s all I care about.” But the romance apparently couldn’t stand the test of time.
“Adrienne would brag to her girlfriends that she was having the best sex of her life,” a source said. “So it does come as a surprise that they’ve broken up!”
“She and Sean definitely had an amazing spark, but it fizzled fast,” another source close to Stewart told Hollywood Life. “They had a talk and, while they really care for each other, decided they would be better as friends. He was just a great guy who was making her laugh and forget about her past dramas.”
The dramas that insider alluded to no doubt included the rocky divorce proceedings between Maloof and Nassif at the end of last year. Their divorce made headlines when Maloof’s attorneys claimed that Nassif had physically abused their sons, an allegation that was later substantiated by the couple’s former personal chef Bernie Guzman. Nassif denied the claims, calling them, “utterly false” and denounced the drama of their legal dispute as a “circus.”
In addition to the media’s scrutiny of Maloof and Stewart, Maloof’s “Real Housewives” cast mate Brandi Glanville also expressed her skepticism about the relationship on Anderson Cooper’s daytime show “Anderson Live,” telling the CNN anchor that she didn’t think the two made an attractive couple.
“You didn’t realize Adrienne is dating Rod Stewart’s son?” Cooper asked Glanville, cuing a photo of the couple that was projected on the TV. “Ugh, I’m sorry, it’s just ... yikes. It’s a bad visual,” Glanville responded.
"There's nothing wrong with that," Glanville added. "It's just those two people. It just makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little and swallow it."
Maloof’s ex-husband also recently revealed that he too is dating a younger woman, former “Miss Nevada” Helen Salas.
Maloof has not yet commented on the split rumors.
