A trip to grandma’s house typically means old family stories and a home-cooked meal.

For Washington Redskins back-up quarterback Kirk Cousins, it meant a drug test.

The former Michigan State starter went to his grandmother’s house Wednesday, and an NFL representative showed up for a random drug test, according to his Twitter account via SI.com.

Apparently the 24-year-old took the slight intrusion with a grain salt.

Cousins tweeted: “NFL’s off-season drug testing at my grandma’s town-home! I’m all for a clean game but weird having a stranger watch u in your own bathroom”

In his rookie year, Cousins appeared in three games, making one start for the injured Robert Griffin III. Cousins completed 33 of 48 pass attempts for 466 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions.

SI.com also reported that the NFL’s drug testing program has been in place since 1987, and players are subject to one mandatory test per season, but can be tested randomly.

That policy might only get stronger with the league and the player’s union inching closer to a testing program for human growth hormone, better known as HGH. The improved testing could be in place at the start of the 2013 season, reports NFL.com.
