The social media site Twitter has launched its first app for Windows 8 and Windows RT. The newly launched Twitter app justified the platform by including Windows 8 focused features such as support for Windows 8 share, Search charms, snap view, live tiles and notifications.

Twitter-owned TweetDeck will no longer off iOS and Android apps from May.

The Discover tab uses Windows 8's horizontal layout to highlight tweets and photos. Designers of the app made significant effort with this release. Tapping a photo brings up the full-screen view, pulling the image upfront and at the centre. You can also view the photo gallery from your favourite users right in the app.

Using the Share charm , you can now share links with photos, others apps, and Internet Explorer 10 to Twitter. The Twitter for Windows 8 uses the same design principles similar to another platforms, featuring the Home, Connect, Discover and Me tabs.

Application is one of the main weakness of Windows 8 and Windows Phone against the hundreds of thousands available from Android and iOS. Having a Windows 8 version of Twitter app is something to celebrate, especially by users.

Other applications offered by Windows 8 includes Angry Birds Star Wars, Skype, Nook, Nick, Kindle and Wikipedia.

Facebook for Windows 8 is from third-party applications, and the real Facebook app hasn't been launched that users are demanding to be addressed quickly.
