The "Black Mamba" still has it. Kobe Bryant was hailed "Western Conference Player of the Week" by NBA for his games played during March 4 to March 10.
The Los Angeles Lakers managed to win three out of four games against the New Orleans Hornets and the Toronto Raptors. With the help of Kobe, the Lakers made their comeback victory after being slumped with defeats.
LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant has finally joined Twitter
Kobe Bryant made an average of 33 points, 8.8 assists and 5.8 rebounds which allowed him to bag the "Western Conference Player of the Week." It is considered a meaningful victory for Kobe and his team after being criticized about their poor performance for the past seasons.
The Lakers managed to score 41 and 42 consecutive points during their match against the Toronto Raptors and the New Orleans Hornets. Kobe's game-winning shots including three point shots and late dunks greatly helped the team to climb to the eighth spot in the NBA conference.
Apart from Kobe, the NBA also named Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat as the "Eastern Conference Player of the Week."
Other players that were nominated in the West Conference were Ty Lawson of the Denver Nuggets, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Marc Gasol and Mike Conley of the Memphies Grizzlies.
Kobe Bryant received the same award just two weeks ago with an average of 31.3 points, 6 assists and 7.7 rebounds. Well if the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant maintain their stats throughout the conference, it might be their chance to show the world once again that they are one of the greatest teams to ever play in the NBA court.
