West Bromwich Albion are keen on landing Chelsea youngster Tomas Kalas in the summer.

The 19-year-old, who can operate as a right-sided centre-half or a right-back, is on his second successive loan spell at Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem. The Czech Republic star also made his senior international debut last year against Slovakia.

Baggies boss Steve Clarke and the club's European scout Tony Spearing watched Kalas in action for Vitesse against Twente at the weekend, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims Clarke wants to add a right-back to his squad at the end of this season, with Steven Reid having spent most of this campaign on the sidelines. And having considered quite a few options, the Chelsea legend has now turned his attention to Kalas.

The Czech, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2011 from native side Sigma Olomouc, has yet to make a senior appearance for the Blues. Clarke already has a strong relationship with his former club, having taken Romelu Lukaku to West Brom on loan last season.

Myhill Signs Two-Year Extension

Meanwhile, Boaz Myhill has agreed a new two-year contract with West Brom. The 30-year-old goalkeeper, who joined the Baggies from Hull City in 2010, has impressed this season while deputising for club's No.1 Ben Foster.

"Boaz has definitely contributed to our success and stepped up to the plate when Ben Foster was injured. In the Barclays Premier League it is vital you have a No.2 you can trust in but also a No.2 that can push your No.1," said West Brom Sporting and technical director Richard Garlick.

"Everyone at the club has faith in both of them and, with Luke Daniels, we've got a good set of three keepers who push each other in training and have a good understanding with each other," he added.

Myhill has made seven Premier League appearances for West Brom so far this season.
