Former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Dereck Chisora has been issued with a new licence by the British Boxing Board of Control and will now appear at Wembley Arena on Spril 20.
Chisora will return to action in a ten-round contest against a yet-to-be-announced opponent on a bill that also features WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly against mandatory challenger Robin Krasniqi.
The 29-year-old lost his licence after a well-publicised brawl with David Haye just hours after going 12 rounds with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. Chisora had also slapped the giant Ukrainian during the weigh in and spat water in his brother, Wladimir's, face just before the fight.
With his licence revoked he was still able to remain in the public eye thanks to the Luxembourg Boxing Federation granting him a licence so that he could face Haye in a massive grudge match in July last year.
Chisora would be knocked out in the fifth round, his fourth loss in his last five fights, but he remains one of the most talented British heavyweights and will be targeting further world title opportunities.
"I'm glad that this whole episode is finally behind me and I can carry on with my boxing career in my own country and with a British Boxing Board of Control license," said Chisora.
"I would like to thank everyone who has kept faith me over the troubled months and I look forward to repaying their loyalty with my performances in the ring as opposed to my action outside of it. I'd like to particularly thank the Luxembourg Boxing Federation for their support."
Chisora's promoter Frank Warren believes that his fighter still has a bright future and is glad that he can once again compete on home soil.
Warren said: "I'm delighted that the British Boxing Board Control has made the right decision and re-instated Dereck's license and the slate is now clean.
"He is an exciting fighter who always gives 100 percent. We will announce who Dereck will be fighting at Wembley Arena shortly but it's great to have him back in action and we've got some big plans for him."
