A minor was raped by her 22-year-old neighbour in South West Delhi on Saturday.

Police nabbed the youth from his Kapashera residence on Sunday following a complaint from the child's parents. 

The accused, Lalit, a hotel management student, lured the five-year old girl while she was playing near her house and then raped her. He threatened the girl of dire consequences if she revealed anything to her parents.

Unable to bear the pain, the girl informed her parents who soon filed an FIR against Lalit.

Medical examination of the girl confirmed rape.

"Following the complaint of the victim's parents and the medical report, we have arrested the accused," a police officer told IANS.

The victim's grandfather complained that Lalit's family was threatening them to withdraw their complaint.

In another incident, a 10-year-old was abducted and raped in an autorickshaw in Delhi's Govindpuri area on Friday. The incident took place near Tughlaqabad. 

The victim who lives with her sister and brother-in-law was tested positive for rape. Police are on the lookout for the accused.

Also reported by CNN-IBN was a teen who was gang raped by five men in the wee hours of Monday in Kolkata.

Police have lodged a complaint against all five and detained two of the accused.

The 17-year-old was raped when she was returning home from a religious festival. The heinous act took place in an under-constructed building.
