Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC launched the much-awaited HTC One smartphone in New York City and London last month.
Its rival Sony unveiled the Xperia Z smartphone at the international Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Both HTC One and Xperia Z being high-end smartphones pack quad-core processors and sport the industry's most impressive camera specs.
But, can HTC One's ultrapixel camera be enough to steer consumers away from Sony's Xperia Z masterpiece?
Display:
HTC One sports a 4.7-inch Super LCD 3 display with an amazing 468 ppi (pixels per inch) pixel density which one of industry's highest screen resolution. Xperia Z too sports an impressive full HD Reality display with 441 ppi resolutions thanks Sony's exclusive Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2.
Processor:
Both Xperia Z and HTC One pack Qualcomm Snapdragon based quad-core processors, but HTC sports a little faster 1.7GHz speed Snapdragon 600 series processor, while Sony is powered by a 1.5GHz speed Snapdragon S4 pro. The differences between CPU speeds are negligible.
Camera:
One of the main attraction of HTC One is its main camera; it sports a 2.0-ultrapixel rear camera (equivalent to 4.0-megapixel), but don't get fooled by the number. The company claims that their camera is more futuristic than the conventional high-resolution camera totting smartphones. HTC One's custom build camera features a f/2.0 aperture lens and a breakthrough sensor with UltraPixels that can absorb 300 percent more light than any other smartphone camera sensors.
Sony too has a few tricks in its sleeve; it has an innovative camera technology called Exmor RS Camera Sensor in its 13.0-megapixel main camera.
Mobile Operating System:
In terms of mobile operating system, both smartphones stand even in this department. HTC One and Xperia Z run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS.
In other aspects such as Graphics Processing Unit, Memory, RAM, network connectivity they both share similar features.
