No. 1 ranked Novak Djokovic puts his perfect 13-0 match record in 2013 on the line Saturday afternoon in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, Calif.
After trouncing Tomas Berdych in the finals of the Dubai Championships a week ago, Djokovic meets Italian Fabio Fognini. The 25-year-old bested Aljaz Bedene in the first round in straight sets, but hasn’t defeated Djokovic since 2006 in Rome. The Serb has won three straight matches against Fognini, all in straight sets.

Unlike Djokovic, Roger Federer hopes to avoid the late round exit he suffered in Dubai.
The 31-year-old Federer lost to Berdych in the semifinals, failing to close on three match points. He’ll face Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin. The pair has squared off three times, with Federer victorious each time, including their matchup in London last season.
Federer is the defending champion at Indian Wells. Last year he defeated American John Isner, who faces Lleyton Hewitt Saturday.
Fifth-ranked in the world, Spain’s Rafael Nadal is still showing signs of weakness in his injured left knee, and will test out the injury on hard court for the first time in a year. Nadal has an impressive 12-1 record in 2013, but he’s only played on clay services.
Saturday Nadal will meet Ryan Harrison. It is their first career match up.
Coverage of the event will be televised by ESPN starting at 2 p.m. Eastern time, or watch their live online stream on ESPN3 here by entering your cable provider info.
