Qoros Auto Co., a Chinese-Israeli carmaker, has made its Geneva Motor Show debut with the unveiling of a a new sedan and two concept cars.

Founded in 2007 under the name Chery Quantum Automotive Corporation, the company's name became Qoros Auto Co. in 2011. Its 3 Sedan is scheduled to be launched in China the second half of 2013, with first European sales following later in the year. One of the 3 Sedan's main competitors will be the strong-selling Volkswagen Golf.

The 3 Sedan will be produced in a new assembly plant in Changshu, China, and yearly output could initially reach 150,000 cars.

The 3 Sedan will feature an eight-inch touchscreen with displays designed for minimal driver distraction. The system features an advanced navigation system, extensive social networking connectivity and the ability for a driver to monitor the car's health to help determine when service is needed.

While the car may have made its debut on European soil, Qoros’ goal is not necessarily to win over the local crowd.

"Our main target is the Chinese market," Stefano Villanti, the company's head of sales, marketing and product strategy, told reporters. "But Chinese consumers like buying European products."
