Just last week, the ex-Smiths frontman, an avid vegetarian, canceled an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” after learning the cast of hunting show “Duck Dynasty” would also be appearing. Morrissey later explained to Pitchfork, "As far as my reputation is concerned, I can't take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump 'Duck Dynasty,' then we must step away."
Morrissey has not been the only person to criticize Beyoncé for her passion for animal skin. She recently has designed clothing made of stingray, ostrich, calf, crocodile and anaconda.
Animal rights organization PETA slammed Beyoncé for her love of using the skin of animals as an accessory. A spokesperson said, “These custom-made kicks come with a high price -- and it’s paid by the various animals who were beaten and skinned alive or cruelly farmed and killed.
We hope that one day she’ll go completely cruelty-free.”
Beyoncé has not released a statement concerning PETA or Morrissey. She is preparing to go on her second world tour, “The Mrs. Carter Show,” which kicks off in Europe April 15, 2013.
