The former Miss Delaware Teen USA Melissa King stepped down from her throne after reports about an alleged sex tape involved her name.
It was a dream turned nightmare for Melissa King, the crowned Miss Delaware who resigned from her title after she was linked to a sex tape. A spokesperson of Miss Universe, the organization that is responsible for Miss Teen USA said that Melissa officially resigned from her throne last Tuesday.
The 18-year-old beauty queen hopeful is now shrouded with scandal after her face was identified in an amateur porn video that surfaced online. After the allegations which she still denies, adult video site YouPorn has offered King a $250,000 contract to be "Miss YouPorn" and to travel the world to promote the site. Melissa clearly declined the offer.
But just as Melissa King becomes famous, in a way that she didn't dream of, let's get to know more about the former Miss Delaware.
She is athletic - King has been a gymnast since she was 9 years old. She has also competed regionally, nationally and internationally. During high school, she became a cheerleader for her school's wrestling, basketball and football teams. Melissa has also played soccer for four years during high school.
She's smart - According to her, she was inaugurated at the National Society of High school Scholars due to her impressive SAT, GPA and AP scores. Currently, she is taking up communications at the College of Philadelphia.
She's artsy - During her younger years, Melissa has won several art contests and was awarded scholarships. Few of her favorite art forms are clay and acrylic painting.
She's a volunteer - She began doing charity works when she was in eighth grade and said that she "fell in love" with the thought of helping others. She has then volunteered in American Heart Association.
She has big dreams - Melissa said that she hopes to work in a prestigious New York magazine someday or work as an NFL sports journalist.
