Batman’s sidekick, Robin the Boy Wonder will be killed off in the latest issue of the revamped DC universe comic.
Robin, whose real name is Damian Wayne in the current universe, will make his last appearance in issue No. 8 of “Batman Incorporated,” that debuts Wednesday, DC Comics told the New York Post Monday.

Issue 8 of 'Batman Incorporated' will feature the last appearance of Robin, Damian Wayne.
In the modern remake of the classic Batman comic, Robin is the 10-year-old son and protégé of Bruce Wayne, Batman, a child he had with Talia, the daughter of one of his fiercest adversaries, Ra’s al Ghul.
“Batman Incorporated” writer Grant Morrison divulged to the Post that the Boy Wonder dies a hero’s death; he is killed amid a battle with a “brutal enemy.”
“He saves the world. He does his job as Robin,” he said. “He dies an absolute hero.”
The comic writer also details that he aimed to bring an adult perspective to the cautionary tale of “how parents lose sight of their kids when they fight.”
A child of divorce, Morrison told the Post that he use elements of his own life to inspire the story.

“It’s all about the family and the family going to hell,” he said. “The two adults in the story are both culpable. The kid’s the good guy.”
Morrison developed the Damian Wayne as Robin character in 2006, an initially violent and tormented child; he soon developed into a “selfless leader.”
“What we did was turn this little monster into a superhero,” he said. “He’s a little brat, but he’s a super-brat.”
Wayne follows a long line of Robins, including the first and best known, Dick Grayson, introduced in 1940, according to the Post.
Another Robin to die was Jason Todd, who was killed by the Joker in 1998 and was ultimately revived in 2005, which Morrison suggests may mean that this won’t be the last fans see of the modern Boy Wonder.
“You can never say never in a comic book . . . Batman will ultimately always have a partner,” he said.
