The Oscars and fashion always go together. Like in all award functions, the just concluded 85th Academy Awards would have been dull if not for the stunning female celebrities who walked the red carpet in wonderful designer outfits, adding spice to the event.

Celebrities like Hilary Swank, Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, Cate Blanchett and many others had hit the headlines in the past for their gorgeous outfits at the Oscars red carpet.

The Oscars 2013 red carpet was not without stunning actresses turning the heads of the onlookers. Jennifer Lawrence, who won the best actress award for her performance in "Silver Linings Playbook" looked wonderful in a white Dior Haute Couture dress.

Halle Berry looked sexy this time too in a stripped gown that showed lots of cleavage. Charlize Theron looked stunning in a white Dior Haute Couture column gown, Kerry Washington was spotted wearing a coral Miu Miu number, Reese Witherspoon wore a black and royal blue Louis Vuitton gown, Amanda Seyfried was seen in Alexander McQueen gown, Zoe Saldana donned a Alexis Mabille number, Jennifer Anniston wore a red Valentino gown, Jane Fonda was spotted in a yellow Versace gown, Kristen Stewart wore a Reem Acra gown, and the list goes on.

The 85th Academy Awards ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood & Highland Center Sunday. Ben Affleck's Iran rescue thriller "Argo" won the Oscar for the best picture Sunday, and "Life of Pi" walked away with maximum awards - a total of four titled including best direction for Ang Lee.

British actor Daniel Day-Lewis bagged the Best Actor award for his role in "Lincoln" and Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Actress award for her performance in David O. Russell's movie, "Silver Linings Playbook."
