Ben Affleck's Iran rescue thriller "Argo" walked away with the Oscar for best picture and "Life of Pi" maker Ang Lee bagged a trophy for best director. This is the second time Lee won an Oscar for directing, at the 85th Academy Awards ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday.

"Argo" beat eight other competitors - "Amour," "Beasts of the Southern Wild," "Django Unchained," "Les Miserables," "Life of Pi," " Lincoln," "Silver Linings Playbook," and "Zero Dark Thirty" - to win the coveted award.

"Life of Pi" was the biggest winner with four titles - Best Direction, Best Original Score, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects, while "Argo" and "Les Miserables" won three Oscars each.
