Kamal Haasan's spy thriller "Vishwaroopam" is maintaining a strong grip at overseas box offices. The film is currently running in its fifth week in the UK and is still getting huge response from Kamal's fans.

At present, the film is being screened in eight prime locations and is running to packed houses in the UK, according to The Times of India. To accommodate fans from different parts of the country, distributors are planning to shift the locations of the movie's screening .

Owing to positive reviews and requests from people to screen "Vishwaroopam" in their areas too, distributers are seeking to shift the screening to different theaters every week.

The film's earning soared in other countries too. In Malaysia, where it was banned for more than two weeks, the film is running to packed houses,The Times of India reported. 

The film was allowed to screen in Malaysia after the home ministry ordered film distributors to remove certain scenes from the film. 

"The approval is given with the condition that the distributor agrees to additional cuts to the movie. Through the meeting, a consensus was achieved for the film to continue its run with some scenes touching on the sensitivity of religion censored," LPF chairman Raja Azahar said in a statement, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The film was released in UK and US box offices on 25 January in Tamil and Telugu, collected around ₹9.14 crore in four weeks.
