Defender Rafael’s soaring goal outside the box gave Manchester Unite a lead they would never relinquish in their 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers Saturday at Loftus Road.

The first place Red Devils have opened up a commanding 15 point gap in the Premier League with 11 matches to go. QPR now has as minus-24 goal differential and are miredin last place.

Ryan Giggs widened the gap in the 80th off an assist from Nani with a right footed shot from the left side of the box. Still United squandered several other opportunities that could have padded their lead. It was the second goal of the season for the 39-year-old Giggs, and his 999 th professional match.

Star Robin van Persie left in the 41 st with a slight injury, but the injury is reportedly not viewed as too serious.
