American Idol 2013 (Season 12) has named its first five girls in the Top 20: Angela Miller, Kree Harrison, Tenna Torres, Adriana Latonio, and Amber Holcomb survived the "Sudden Death" round in Las Vegas. They all advance to the live rounds in two week's time.

For the Sudden Death, the Hollywood Top 40 has been split into two groups of male and another two groups of female Idol hopefuls. Many viewers did not like this new trimming method.
American Idol "should have done all girls this week and cut tonight. I hope they didn't get it wrong. but I do agree with the cuts last night, they got it right," writes Marian Nielsen on the Idol Facebook page.

"It's unfair that the girls were split into two groups, no decisions should have been made until all 10 girls had sung," writes Helen Quinn.
A lot of viewers are talking about the performance of Shubha Vedula. She is one of the 10 girls who almost made it, but she tried to do so much in so little time. In the end, her best didn't shine through. Isabelle, whose performance also made it to many viewers' personal cuts, is said to have been robbed, too. The slot taken by Tenna Torres in the final judges' cut should have gone to either Isabelle or Shubha, according to many insights posted to social media channels.
But someone's got Tenna's back: "If you are familiar with the original Natasha Beddingfield version than you should be able to appreciate how Tenna made this her own and made the boring parts of the original song much better," writes YouTube user DelawareResident.
