The Bachchan family is one of the most prominent and well-known families in the Bollywood industry and has millions of fans across the world.

The family includes late Indian poet Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan who is also the father of the Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan alias Big B.

Amitabh Bachchan born was born on 11 October, 1942 in Allahabad. His father had named him Inquilaab which was later changed to Amitabh following the suggestion from a friend of his father.

The actor rose to fame in the 1970's and was known as the "angry young man" of the Hindi film Industry.

Amitabh married veteran actress Jaya Bhaduri in 1973. The couple have two children Shweta Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan, who is also a Bollywood actor.

Shweta is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda and have two children.

Abhishek Bachchan married actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai. The couple has a daughter named Aradhya who also struck fame thanks to her celebrity parents.
