A museum in Austria just opened a “Nude Men From 1800 To Today” exhibit, and it was suitably filled with naked men, the Inquisitr reported Tuesday.

Of course one would expect nude sculptures and paintings of males at the Leopold Museum in Vienna, but the exhibit has been overrun by nudists since it opened.

The museum has decided to embrace their nude guests, not asking them to cover up, and is giving them tours of the exhibit.

Museum spokesman Klaus Pokorny told the Inquisitr:

“We got requests from all over the world from people who were inspired by the exhibition … who asked us ‘can we visit the exhibition naked?’”

Talk about life imitating art; the nude men have certainly added to the excitement of the exhibit.

The Leopold Museum wrote on its website:

“Previous exhibitions on the theme of nudity have mostly been limited to female nudes. With the presentation ‘naked men’ in the autumn of 2012 the Leopold Museum will be showing a long overdue exhibition on the diverse and changing depictions of naked men from 1800 to the present.

"Thanks to loans from all over Europe, the exhibition ‘naked men’ will offer an unprecedented overview of the depiction of male nudes. Starting with the period of Enlightenment in the 18th century, the presentation will focus mainly on the time around 1800, on tendencies of Salon Art, as well as on art around 1900 and after 1945.”

The museum is embracing all their visitors, conservatives and nudists alike, posting pictures of their puzzled faces on their Facebook page.
