The latest buzz from Twitter has astonished many after it revealed that Akshay Kumar's movies have reached the ₹2000 crore mark just days after his movie 'Special 26' released.

Various reports on Saturday said that '#Akshay2000crore' was trending worldwide and is currently among the top trends in India on Twitter.

The 45-year-old actor thanked his fans through a tweet which stated "Honestly blessed to have you all Akkians in my life. Special thanks to my fan clubs who support me so much selflessly time & again. Thank you for the #Akshay2000crore tag only possible coz of you all."

Akshay started his Bollywood career with the 1991 flick "Saugandh" followed by "Khiladi", the first of its series that released in 1992.

He who also played the role of producer and is the only star in the Indian film industry who gave four big hits a year.

Some of the actor's recent blockbusters include "Rowdy Rathore", "Oh My God", "Khiladi 786" and "Special 26". "Rowdy Rathore", directed by Prabhu Deva, alone grossed ₹134 crore in India last year.

"Housefull 2", starring Akshay kumar, John Abraham, Asin Thottumkal and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles, also crossed the ₹100 crore mark in 2012.

Akshay's latest heist drama "Special 26", which also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Manoj Bajpayee and Anupam Kher, is doing good business at various box offices. The movie has collected ₹44 crore during the first week.

"Special 26", directed by Neeraj Pandey and based on a real-life story of con artists, was released in 1,750 screens across the country on 8 February.
