Kenneth Cole made his return to Fashion Week on the first day of the Fall 2013 season shows with a collection inspired by "liberation."

After his seven year hiatus, the designer along with creative director Kobi Halperin channeled a downtown vibe as the collection's name, "Urban Liberation," may suggest. In hues of black and gray, many pieces of leather or with leather-detailing were mixed with cozy knits, some of which had metallic embellishments.

Not unlike Timo Weiland and BCBGMAXAZRIA who also showed on Thursday, layering was a big theme for Kenneth Cole with loose silhouettes topped by tweed jackets, vests and jumpers.
