It looks like Bradley Cooper is adding yet another credit to his busy film schedule. According to Deadline, the actor is set to star in the upcoming “The Man From Primrose Lane.”
The genre-bending film is based on the upcoming James Renner novel of the same name.
Chad Feehan has been tapped to pen the film’s screenplay.
Cooper will portray David, a true crime writer grappling with his wife’s puzzling suicide. When he begins researching his next subject, the unsolved murder of “the man with a thousand mittens,” he uncovers parallels between the case and his wife’s death.
News of the star’s casting comes as speculation surrounding his role in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Lance Armstrong biopic continues to mount. The film is based on the forthcoming book “Cycle Of Lies: The Fall Of Lance Armstrong” by Juliet Macur.”
In an interview with BBC News last week, Cooper expressed an interest in playing the disgraced cyclist.
"I would be interested in [playing Armstrong]," he said. "I think he's fascinating. What a fascinating character."
Abrams, who teamed with Cooper in 2001 when he guest starred on the action series “Alias,” told Entertainment Tonight that the “Limitless” star has already contacted him about the film.
"[Cooper] sent me an email and we've been talking,” Abrams said of the film.
Yet the actor is now denying he’s in any way connected to the film.
“Oh my God, that’s so nuts!” he told Access Hollywood of being a part of the film. “I was in Manchester, doing the BBC morning show… I had no idea what [the interviewer] was talking about. I didn’t even know that J.J. has the rights, I had no idea.”
Whether or not Cooper is slated to appear in the film, he certainly has enough in the pipeline as it is.
According to Variety, Cooper is in talks to star in the upcoming comedy “Chef.” The former “Sexiest Man Alive” will star as a failed chef who’s determined to revive his career.
He’s also slated to appear in the depression-era drama “Serena” as well as an untitled David O. Russell project and an untitled Cameron Crowe film.
Cooper will next be seen opposite Ryan Gosling in “A Place Beyond the Pines,” set to debut in March, and “The Hangover III,” scheduled to hit theaters in May.
Cooper is currently starring in “Silver Linings Playbook,” opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Robert DeNiro, as a former teacher who moves in with parents after he’s released from a mental institution. The role has earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
The 38-year-old graces the cover of this month’s Vanity Fair Hollywood issue alongside Emma Stone and Ben Affleck.
