Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM) has announced that BlackBerry 10 will finally debut on Jan. 30.

"From this point forward, RIM becomes BlackBerry," the company's president and CEO Thorsten Heins said on stage in New York City.

After making this announcement, Heins officially unveiled the two first BlackBerry 10 handsets: the highly rumored Z10 and Q10 smartphones. The BlackBerry CEO emphasized the "clear, sharp [and] incredibly vivid" display of both the devices, boasting that the Z10 offers a "cinematic experience."

BlackBerry was sure to keep with its signature style, as the Q10 will be the first smartphone to feature a physical keyboard.

On stage, BlackBerry executives showcased the brand new BlackBerry Flow feature, which allows users to move content from the BlackBerry Hub without using the home button.

"It's not just about managing messages coming in. It's all your activity and engagement in one place," BlackBerry exectuive Vivek Bhardwaj said.

With a single gesture, users can check upcoming events with one swipe in the BlackBerry Hub without having to open the calendar app.

BlackBerry is certainly bringing a fresh appraoch to mobile software. Devices such as Samsung's Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lineup boast multi-window functionality to implement multitasking, and now BlackBerry has invented its own approach to solve the same problem. The company boasted that BlackBerry 10 devices adjust to the user, rather than the other way around.
