BlackBerry 10 Release Date: Where To Watch Live Stream Announcement

Research in Motion will unveil its BlackBerry 10 OS at 10 a.m. during its “The BlackBerry Experience” launch event in New York City Wednesday.

The event will show case two new phones by BlackBerry that will release with the new, streamlined operating system, the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry X10.

With its modernized OS, RIM is gearing up to compete with such vastly sought out operating systems as iOS and Android.

In recent years, its BlackBerry 7 OS has put once extremely popular BlackBerry devices behind the curve. As consumers have favored rival devices, so have businesses also abandoned the brand.

In recent months as RIM has been ironing out the kinking in the new OS, it has also gained support of developers, been working with carriers and teased its new hardware, effectively drawing a fair among of anticipation.

BlackBerry 10 features a unique home screen with open apps previews. The OS maintains BlackBerry’s traditional security, but still integrates such social networking platforms as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and LinkedIn.

“The BlackBerry Experience” event begins at 7 a.m. and will take place simultaneously in Toronto; London; Paris; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Dubai. Live Stream Coverage starts at 10 a.m.
