Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has moved to end speculation that hitman Luis Suarez could be heading for the exit at Anfield.
The Uruguay striker has been key to Liverpool during the early months of Rodgers' tenure in the Liverpool dugout.
Suarez's goals and dynamic all round play have been so valuable to a Liverpool team in which he has been the sole available striker, on occasions.
So reports in The Sun linking the 26-year-old with a possible move away, would not have been welcome on Merseyside. Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, in Germany, have been mooted as a possible destination.
A fee of £40m was touted as the sum to draw Suarez away from Anfield, where he has become a firm fans' favourite. But speculation he could leave is fuelled by an ugly sideshow, including accusations of cheating and a race row with Manchester United's Patrice Evra.
But Rodgers insisted Suarez is staying put, claiming that the player's loyalty is proven by his failure to walk out last summer, when Kenny Dalglish was sacked and Rodgers hired to replace him.
Rodgers said, "Luis had a terrific season last season and he had an opportunity to leave in the summer, and probably would have had a ready-made excuse with a new manager coming in, but he never did," reported the Daily Mail.
"He committed to the club. He sees the vision going forward, and he believes in that.
"He knows it won't happen overnight. He has had a brilliant season with 20 goals until now, and hopefully there are many more to come.
"When you are a club like this you are judged on your trophies, and we want to improve in the league as well."
