Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC will reportedly launch its second flagship HD smartphone M7 around the third week of February.

Citing a reliable source, Italian blogger Flavio claims that HTC will be hosting a launch event for its flagship M7 smartphone on Feb 19 in London, a few days before the international mobile convention MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona, Spain.

"Let's say that with many years of work in the field I have my connections.", said Flavio without revealing his source..

Speculations of HTC M7's specs and the possible launch date have been floating around for a quite some time now. The smartphone is rumoured to feature a 4.7-inch Full HD display. With 468 ppi (pixel per inches), HTC M7's display is pegged to have 40 percent higher screen resolutions than that of Apple's iPhone 5.

Expected Specifications of HTC M7 Includes:

The HTC smartphone's camera is said to come with an image-enhancing technology, 'Cinesensor', which gives crisp image quality, HD video recording and super slow-motion video playback.

Many technology websites have opined that companies' preference to host their own event to launch flagship devices makes sense as they can get individual media coverage. If the device is unveiled in an open event like CES (Consumer Electronics Show) or MWC (Mobile World Congress), there are chances that their products may get over-shadowed by other products at the convention.

HTC seems to be following the footsteps of big organizations like Apple, Samsung and Microsoft which are known to host their own events to launch their flagship devices.
