"Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" released last week may not have received a positive response at box offices across the country, but it has become Vishal Bhardwaj's biggest hit film in terms of money.

"MKBKM" is a political satire set in a village in Haryana. The film which was made with a budget of Rs 33 crore has raked in Rs 42.38 crore within eight days of its release.
"This is my biggest opening and appreciation is coming from a lot of people. But I am really happy and relieved about the fact that I am able to make the kind of movie that I want to make and still have a profitable film," the director of the film said.
Bhardwaj's directorial film featuring Pankaj Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Anushka Sharma and Imran Khan was released in 1850 screens across India. The screen count of "MKBKM" is much lower as compared to other big-budget movies.
MKBKM's collection is declining and the new release "Inkar" is set to affect the collection even further.
"Inkar" is a romantic crime story directed by Sudhir Mishra. The film received negative reviews from critics and it also failed to attract audiences on the opening day.
The film opened to a dull response across the country in terms of collections. It raked in only Rs 1.65 crore on its opening day. The film, starring Arjun Rampal and Chitrangda Singh in lead roles, focuses on sexual harassment in the corporate world.
