The 70th annual Golden Globes, hosted by actresses Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills, California.

Hollywood's leading ladies were at their glamorous best, swathed in couture gowns and expensive jewellery. Jennifer Lawrence capped a fine evening on-stage with a ravishing fashion statement to boot; the 22-year-old American looked elegant in Christian Dior combined with Brian Atwood shoes, Chopard jewelry and a Ferragamo clutch.

Meanwhile, Zero Dark Thirty's Jessica Chastain looked breathtaking in a Calvin Klein creation and Dark Knight Rising's Catwoman, Anne Hathaway, brought back The Princess Diaries days in a Chanel dress, coat and jewels, with custom vegan Aldo shoes and a Roger Vivier bag.

Glee's Lea Michele, who was also a presenter, was hot in a white Elie Saab dress and bag, accessorised with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Giambattista Valli shoes.

British singing superstar Adele made her first public appearance since giving birth to her first child. The 24-year-old singer with multiple Grammies to her name is in a relationship with 38-year-old Simon Konecki and the two are parents to a son. Adele won the award for Best Original Song - Skyfall - the theme from the Daniel Craig and Judi Dench-starring James Bond film of the same name.

The singer wore trademark black - a Burberry gown with Van Cleef and Arpel jewels, Miu Miu shoes and a Burberry clutch.

Actress Jennifer Garner was in Vivienne Westwood with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, David Webb jewels and a Roger Vivier bag. Her director/actor husband Ben Affleck bagged coveted awards for Best Picture - Drama (Argo) and Best Director.
