For 2013, the California-based kitchen appliances maker Dacor will release the first wall oven using Android OS. The wall oven has a dimension of 30 inches and its Android controller is powered by a seven-inch device called Discovery IQ controller.
The release of the Android-powered wall oven follows the trend of the OS being used outside the traditional mobile phones and tablet computers.
In August 2012, Samsung released the Galaxy Camera which is powered by the Android OS platform and features 4.8" display, Android 4.1 Jellybean, 16.3MP camera, and the ability to send both SMS and MMS.
In 2011, Samsung released a Smart Fridge in CES that features special apps, built-in 8-inch LCD screen, and Wi-Fi connectivity. This smart appliance can actually access Twitter app, Google calendar, and updates latest news and weather from Weather Bug and Associated Press.
