Blue Ivy Turns One: Jay Z and Beyonce's Daughter's Life so Far
Jay-Z and Beyoncé's daughter Blue Ivy Carter has turned one year old.
Born into musical royalty at New York's Lennox Hill Hospital on 7 January 20011, her birth was always going to cause a media frenzy.
Although her parents have shielded her away from the spotlight, within the space of 12 months, the little girl has made multiple headlines, won her own legion of loyal fans, and has had a track, Glory, dedicated to her by her dad.
Blue has also made music history - as the youngest person to appear on the Billboard chart after her was included on the song released two days after she was born.
At just one, Blue already lives the life of a jetsetter. In 2012 alone she enjoyed holidays in the Caribbean and the south of France.
Jay-Z has made no bones that he plans to continue to spoil his princess.
The 43-year-old Roc Nation boss said: "I imagine I'll take things I learned from my mum and things I've learned from raising my nephews and apply that.
"Then, at the end of the day, I just know I'll probably have the worst, spoilt little kid ever."
IBTimes UK takes a look at key moments in Blue's life so far.
Mummy's Angel
Following her birth, Beyoncé and Jay-Z surprised fans by sharing the first pictures of Blue on a Tumblr blog. In one tender image, the singer beams into the camera while she cradles her daughter in her arms.
Daddy's Girl
Just hours after her birth, proud dad Jay-Z released a track about her and he has not stopped gushing since. Even before the baby was born he admitted he would spoil his daughter.
Music Fan
She may be just one year old but Blue is already a big music fan. It comes as no surprise considering she has musical superstars as parents. Last year Blue showed her support for her rapper daddy by wearing a baby-size Watch The Throne tour T-shirt while being fed by her mother.
Copyright Control
To help preserve her superstar status her parents attempted to trademark Blue's unusual name shortly after her birth. They lost their bid because a party planning firm in Boston, Blue Ivy Events, had been using the moniker since 2009.
Pampered Princess
At just three months old Blue enjoyed her first vacation when her parents headed to the Caribbean island of St Bart's to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary. In September, she was also party of the family touring party celebrating Beyonce's 31st birthday on a yacht in the South of France.
