2013 Golden Globe Nominations: Homeland, Breaking Bad, Mad Men Tops List [PHOTOS]
The nominations for the awards night happening in January are in, and this might be the most challenging and exciting pool of Golden Globe nominees to date.
On January, a new set of Golden Globe winners will be announced, and just by looking at the full list of nominees, one can tell that it will be TV's most exciting red carpet affair. Homeland, Showtime's CIA drama, bagged several nominations including Best Drama Series, Best Actor (Damian Lewis) and Actress (Claire Danes), and Best Supporting Actor (Mandy Patinkin). The show picked up several awards last year, with Lewis and Danes bagging the major awards.
AMC's Breaking Bad continues to prove its value an importance in the current drama race for being nominated against equally-gripping shows like HBO's Boardwalk Empire and The Newsroom , Downton Abbey (BBC), and frontrunner, Homeland.
There's also suspense boiling up in the Best Actor in a Drama Series category. Jeff Daniels from The Newsroom might be up for some pressure contending with actors who have all won the category in the past. Damian Lewis took home the award last year, breaking Bryan Cranston's streak. Past winners Jon Hamm and Steve Buscemi are also running for the acclaim for January's awards night.
The Big Bang Theory continues its yearly nomination, along with HBO's trending comedy, Girls, and Modern Family. Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara are up for supporting awards, and loyal fans couldn't wait if the members of TV's funniest family will turn out to be winners.
