Walliams, 41, has expressed his excitement over the impending birth of their first child.
Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams and his wife Lara Stone have revealed they are having their first baby.
"We're very excited to announce we are expecting our first child," the couple said in a statement.
"We're both absolutely thrilled but ask you to please respect our privacy during this precious time."
Ahead of the announcement, the 42-year-old Little funnyman took to his Twitter page to share his excitement over becoming a dad for the first time with fans.
He told his 900,000 followers: "Some wonderful news. My beautiful wife Lara is pregnant. We are having a baby! It is due next year and we both couldn't be happier. Dx."
Walliams began dating the Dutch model in 2009 and married the blonde beauty at central London's Claridge's Hotel in May 2010.
Despite dating some of world's most beautiful women, the comedian admits that his sexuality is constantly under scrutiny.
Walliams, whose girlfriends have included TV presenter Lisa Snowdon, models Lauren Budd and Emily Scott, pin-up Abi Titmuss and actress Patsy Kensit said: "Sometimes I think it would be simpler if I was gay because everyone thinks I am."
But he added: "I love women. I find them intoxicating."
Earlier this year, the Little Britain star opened up about his battles with depression and his multiple suicide attempts in his memoir, Camp David.
A 2003 diary entry included in the book reads: "Just tried to hang myself. But I knew I didn't really want to die, I just didn't want to live. I took my weight with my feet and sat down.
"Earlier I had come close to stepping in front of a train. I am in total despair."
