Local Atlanta news anchor Amanda Davis for Fox 5 was arrested Sunday for DUI after a crash caused by Davis, police said.
11Alive.com reported Atlanta Police Sgt. Gregory Lyon said Davis was arrested at around midnight after an accident. Lyon said Davis was driving northbound in a southbound lane and crashed her green Fiat into a black Toyota.
"Upon speaking with both drivers, the officer noticed an odor of alcohol emanating from Ms. Davis' person," Sgt. Lyon said in a statement. "He asked her if she had been drinking, to which she did respond in the affirmative."
Davis reportedly refused to submit to a field sobriety test and the State Administered Chemical Test but was arrested for impaired driving and was booked in jail.
Davis was also charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.
The other driver, David Jarman, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after complaining of injuries.
Davis anchors WAGA news at 6 and 10 p.m.
“We are aware of the situation and we are currently investigating,” Fox 5 vice president said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
