Stocks added to gains on Thursday, with major indexes up more than 1 percent, after bullish jobs and consumer confidence data lifted sentiment.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 134.59 points, or 1.03 percent, at 13,231.05. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 14.01 points, or 0.99 percent, at 1,426.17.
