If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! Former WWE Diva Amy Weber was afraid naked photos of her would be leaked when her computer was stolen so she simply released the pictures herself.

According to TMZ, last week, Weber's laptop was stolen where she kept a full spread of nude photos. So instead of waiting around for the person to make money off her "leaked" images, Weber released them online herself, for free.

Weber told TMZ her laptop was stolen from her car last Wednesday while she was playing with her kids in a park in Los Angeles. She said the naked photos were shot for Playboy magazine but never made it to print.

She said she worked with her management team to release the photos in a controlled manner.

Weber was a WWE Diva in 2004 when she entered he WWE Diva Search Content, which was won by Christy Hemme. Though she won fourth place, Weber signed a contract with the WWE before leaving in February 2005.

After news broke of the release of the photos on Wednesday, many criticized Weber for the incident, saying it sounds like a clever PR tactic.

"Does this reek of a marketing ploy to you guys?" Celebrity Dirty Laundry wrote. "We’ve all seen and heard about how naked photos of celebs get around. Usually a celeb is in bed or in the bathroom taking shots of their nether regions on their cell phones or laptops and then somehow those gadgets get stolen."

Celebrity Dirty Laundry also pointed out that "it seems off" Playboy would shoot a photo spread of a celebrity and suddenly decide not to release the photos.

"I wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be a desperate ploy for Weber to make a comeback of some sort," Celebrity Dirty Laundry continued, adding that Weber left the WWE amidst scandals of harassment from some wrestlers. "She hasn’t done much since then, and this releasing of a nude photo spread is the first time her name has been mentioned in years."
